The Process of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a structured, evidence-based, and goal-oriented form of psychotherapy.

Overview of the process:

1. Initial Consultation (50 minutes): Getting to know each other, clarifying the framework, completing the therapy contract and fee agreement, as well as an initial description of the problem and clarification of goals.

2. Diagnostic & Planning Phase (2–5 sessions): Detailed problem analysis, biographical history, creation of an individual disorder model, and joint determination of therapy goals.

3. Main phase: Active change work using cognitive and behavioral therapy techniques (e.g., thought records, exposure, behavioral activation). Regular homework assignments support progress.

4. Conclusion phase: Consolidation of progress, creation of a relapse prevention plan, and joint conclusion.

Duration

Depending on the issue, typically 15 to 40 sessions (weekly, 50 minutes each). Double sessions or video sessions are available if needed.
The therapy is transparent, active, and tailored specifically to you.
