Private health Insurance/Assistance
Private health insurance companies and assistance agencies usually reimburse the costs of psychotherapy. However, it is possible that costs are not fully reimbursed. Please clarify what proportion and how many sessions your health insurance company will cover before starting psychotherapy.
The fee for psychotherapeutic services is based on the fee schedule for psychotherapists (Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten; GOP; https://api.bptk.de/uploads/Uebersicht_Analogleistungen_gemaess_Abrechnungsempfehlungen_B_Pt_K_B_Ae_K_PKV_Beihilfe_2024_07_01_5d59d963de.pdf).
The fee for the psychotherapeutic consultation is €134.07 (GOP code 812a; 2.3 times the hourly rate; 50 minutes). The cost of a therapy session as part of short-term therapy (up to 25 sessions) is between €134.07 and €167.58 (GOP codes 812a, 801a; 2.3 times the hourly rate; 50 minutes), depending on the type of session (psychotherapeutic consultation, probationary therapy, acute therapy, short-term therapy). The cost of a therapy session as part of long-term therapy is (GOP codes 870; 3.5 times the hourly rate & 801a; 2.3 times the hourly rate; 50 minutes).
In addition, there are costs for collecting the biographical anamnesis, possibly over several sessions (123.34€, GOP code 860; 2.3 times the hourly rate), if necessary, expert reports on therapy (67.03€ per hour or part thereof, GOP code 85; 2.3 times the hourly rate) and the evaluation of psychological questionnaires at the beginning, during and end of therapy (75.75€ GOP code 855; 1.8 times the hourly rate).
Self-payers

The fee for self-payers is in accordance with the fee schedule for psychotherapists (GOP) and is €167.58 (GOP numbers 801, 812; 2.3 times the hourly rate) per session.
Statutory Health Insurance
Since I am not approved by the German statutory health insurance, the costs are, unfortunately not covered by them. Patients with statutory health insurance can undergo therapy as self-payers.
