Diagnosis of Mental Disorders 

Mental disorders are diagnosed based on criteria established in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). The ICD-10 is a standardized system used to classify diseases, symptoms, injuries, and other health conditions using codes. Section F covers mental and behavioral disorders.
An ICD-10 code is a standardized diagnostic designation that is relevant for communication between healthcare providers, serves as the basis for billing health insurance companies, and aids in treatment planning.
